Cover Reveal: Viper's Creed by T.L. Shreffler

Today I'm happy to be able to present you the cover of Viper's Creed by T.L. Shreffler, which is the second book in the Cat's Eye series. I have not yet read this series, but it sounds very promising and I definitely like its covers.

Goodreads Summary:
Sora is having visions. Strange, terrifying visions brought on by her Cat's Eye necklace, an ancient and magical device. Spurred to action, she leaves her mother's cabin to find Crash, the mysterious assassin who once changed her life. She is certain that together, they can discover what the necklace is trying to tell her.

Crash is still on the run from the dark sorcerer, Volcrian, but now a plague is spreading across the land. Volcrian's quest for vengeance has awakened something far more evil than himself; a force that could destroy the entire kingdom. Together, he and Sora must harness the power of the Cat's Eye and kill the sorcerer before it's too late....

Her assassin friend.
The reminder of Crash was unexpected, and Sora bit her lip, quickly turning away from her mother. Well, he hadn't truly been a friend, but definitely someone who had changed her life. The mention of Crash left her flustered and tense, not a welcomed feeling, though she didn't mention it. He had left a year ago, traveling away with their mutual companion, Burn. An entire year... but she still thought of them every day. Every. Single. Damned. Day. (From Chapter 1 of Viper's Creed)

Goodreads Summary for book#1:
Sora planned on running away from her wedding, but she never expected to be kidnapped! Dumped into a world of magical races, arcane jewelry and forgotten lore, she finds herself at the mercy of a dangerous assassin, haunted by an even darker past. She yearns for freedom, but he won’t let her go—not when her Cat’s Eye necklace is the only thing that can save his life.

But the necklace itself presents a problem. It is an ancient device from the long forgotten War of the Races, and its magic has the ability to steal souls. Can Sora learn to wield its power—or will the power wield her? (Winner of the SKOW 2006 Best Fantasy Award)

Cover Reveal: Taken & Altered Souls by Karice Bolton.

I'm very happy to be part of today's cover reveal for two upcoming - and probably very awesome - new reads by Karice Bolton. Not only are the covers very gorgeous (which were designed by PhatPuppy Art, but I'm also in love with their summaries. Please take a closer look...

Taken
- a prequel novella to the Watchers trilogy
- expected to be published December 2012

Ana and Athen are enjoying the quiet life as a couple with only the minor dark demon infraction to rectify. Cyril and Arie are enjoying the newfound simplicity too. Things are perfect – too perfect.

They soon realize that something far more sinister is taking place in their world, and they must do their best to stop the evil from spreading. Determined to figure out who is tampering with the mortals’ fate they are unable to recognize that it’s a trap, and one of their own is the target.

This is where it all begins.

Altered Souls
- second book in the Witch Avenue series (click here for my review for Lonely Souls)
- expected to be published October 2012

The realm of Altered Souls brings nothing but unrest, deceit, and pain forcing Triss to come face to face with heartbreak from her past.

Facing a betrayal like never before, Triss questions everything she thought she knew about her family, coven, and abilities.

With the help of Logan, she embarks on a journey enabling her to confront the dark side of magic and the person who controls it. Realizing Triss’s ancestors have been seduced for centuries by the dark side, Triss and Logan must ensure no more in their world fall victim to the realm of Altered Souls, even if that means ending the ones they love.

Karice Bolton is a paranormal romance/urban fantasy author living in the Pacific Northwest. All three books in The Watchers Trilogy are available now, Awakening, Legions, and Cataclysm. Lonely Souls, which is the first book in her new series Witch Avenue, was released in June 2012!

They have two English Bulldogs that are the cutest bullies in the world, and they use their cuteness to get what they want. Karice loves the snow and gravitates towards the stuff as often as possible! She enjoys writing, and she also loves to read just about anything with print.

Do you like these covers as much as I do and do you plan to read Taken and / or Altered Souls?
I'd love to hear your thoughts, so feel free to leave a comment.

Cover Reveal: Flight by Alyssa Rose Ivy

Today I'm excited to be part of the cover reveal for the first book of Alyssa Rose Ivy's upcoming Crescent Chronicles series, Flight. It will be published in September 2012 and this gorgeous cover was created by Phatpuppy Art.

Goodreads Summary
Sometimes you just have to take flight.

A summer in New Orleans is exactly what Allie needs before starting college. Accepting her dad’s invitation to work at his hotel offers an escape from her ex-boyfriend and the chance to spend the summer with her best friend. Meeting a guy is the last thing on her mind—until she sees Levi.

Unable to resist the infuriating yet alluring Levi, Allie finds herself at the center of a supernatural society and forced to decide between following the path she has always trusted or saving a city that might just save her.

So, what do you think? Are you as intrigued as I am for Flight? The summary reminds me a tiny bit of Illuminate by Aimee Agresti, which I loved sooo much, so I can't wait to find out whether Flight is equally awesome.

Cover Reveal: My Super Sweet 16th Century

Today I'm very excited to be part of the cover reveal for a book that I've been wanting to read ever since I've first read its summary: My Super Sweet 16th Century by Rachel Harris. Also make sure to read the excerpt at the end of the post that made me want to read this novel even more!

Summary:
On the precipice of her sixteenth birthday, the last thing lone wolf Cat Crawford wants is an extravagant gala thrown by her bubbly stepmother and well-meaning father. So even though Cat knows the family’s trip to Florence, Italy, is a peace offering, she embraces the magical city and all it offers. But when her curiosity leads her to an unusual gypsy tent, she exits . . . right into Renaissance Firenze.

Thrust into the sixteenth century armed with only a backpack full of contraband future items, Cat joins up with her ancestors, the sweet Alessandra and protective Cipriano, and soon falls for the gorgeous aspiring artist Lorenzo. But when the much-older Niccolo starts sniffing around, Cat realizes that an unwanted birthday party is nothing compared to an unwanted suitor full of creeptastic amore.

Can she find her way back to modern times before her Italian adventure turns into an Italian forever?

This available for pre-order on: Amazon | Barnes & Noble
Be sure to add it to your TBR pile on Goodreads!

Excerpt:
Alessandra jerks back like I just suggested she prance around the square naked or something. “No! I believe I understand your meaning, and Lorenzo is certainly not my suitor. He is like a brother to me—the three of us grew up together.”
She resumes walking and I fall in step beside her, understanding there has to be more to the story. And as we near the end of the row, I finally ask, “If you’re not into the guy, then what’s the problem?”
At that same moment, a rich, deep chuckle hits my ears. My stomach involuntarily clenches and my gaze sharpens on the back of this mysterious Lorenzo.
Alessandra sighs. “That is the problem.” She places her hand on my arm and solemnly looks me in the eyes. “You must be careful. Lorenzo is beautiful, and it is not uncommon for a girl to walk away from meeting him with a piece of her heart left behind. But he is just eighteen, and not yet ready for marriage.”
I roll my eyes and laugh, then realize she’s serious. “Yeah, I assure you, there’s no danger on my end. I’m not exactly looking for marriage myself.” Because that would be crazy-town.
Alessandra wrinkles her nose as if she doesn’t believe me, but she removes her hand. We close the distance and Cipriano flashes me an open, honest to goodness, lighthearted smile.
“Lorenzo, this is the cousin I was telling you about.”
Slowly the guy turns and I fall head first into the richest chocolate-brown eyes I’ve ever seen. He blinks and long, luscious lashes feather across his bronzed cheeks. I can feel myself gawking, but I physically can’t drag my eyes away. Lorenzo doesn’t smirk or act all conceited, either. He simply stares back, his eyes casually skimming over me, causing my skin to warm and break out in a whole body tingle.
Time seems to stop, and the sounds of the market mute. Alessandra was right. This boy is beautiful.
And he’s looking at me.

What do you think? Awesome, isn't it?

Cover Reveal: Lonely Souls by Karice Bolton

Today I'm part of the cover reveal for Lonely Souls by Karice Bolton, the first book in the The Witch Avenue series. It's going to be a NEW ADULT series (age group 18-22), which is going to be published in June 2012. This gorgeous cover was created by Phatpuppy Art and the cover reveal organized by AToMR Book Blog Tours.

Summary:
It's two weeks before Triss turns 18, and her world is about to change into the most magical one imaginable as she readies herself to enter The Witch Avenue Order... that is until her mother's disappearance. Instead of celebrating her transformation, she finds herself spreading rose petals into her mother's empty grave.

When Logan, her best friend from junior high, moves back to town for college, he vows to help her find the answers she so desperately seeks surrounding her mother's disappearance. As they begin uncovering clues, it becomes apparent that the life of white magic they both grew up loving, is not what the majority practices, and their lives are in danger.

With a haunting feeling that her mother may still be alive, she begins to hear a call to the wilderness. Triss realizes that in order to find the answers she needs, she must learn the ways of her ancestors and become the hunter, not the hunted before it's too late, and she becomes part of the lonely souls.

First of all, I absolutely love this cover. The typography is beautiful but doesn't distract from the mysterious background. Secondly, I also love the summary and can't wait to read this - it sounds like a very exciting read.

What do you think?

Cover Reveal: Lucid by P.T. Michelle

Today I'm lucky to be part of the cover reveal for Lucid by P.T. Michelle, which is the sequel to her Young Adult novel Brightest Kind of Darkness. If you haven't read my review for that one yet, go here and do that... or just get a Kindle copy of it, because I absolutely loved Nara and Ethan's story and can't wait to find out how it continues.

I love that the cover of Lucid sticks with the forest theme we've already seen for Brightest Kind of Darkness. The colours are so beautiful and all in all, seeing this cover makes me want to read the sequel immediately. The release date for Lucid is not set yet (probably Spring 2012), but I'm already dying to get my hands on a copy of this.
